October 2000: Bruce has bad day with over-charging
plumber. Planning for new business begins.
June 2001: Business begins trading as
RedJacks, with two handymen and Bruce answering the phone
from his spare room at home.
May 2003: Business re-branded as 0800handyman.
Now has eight handymen and still growing strong.
May 2004: First franchisee, Andy Foulds,
begins trading
October 2005: 0800handyman wins Best Customer
Service category at Sage Business Awards
November 2005: 0800handyman also wins Parcelforce
Small Business Award for Best Customer Service
January 2007: Company moves to larger office
and now has nearly 40 handymen, with five full-time office
staff
